To Tengboche.

Wednesday 4th July

Another big day today with a 5 hour walk to Tengboche, we left Hotel Tibet around 9.30am and started the steep climb onto the mountain pass. Chest burning, pulse racing and Tanka breezing up with a 15kg rucksack, these locals are unbelievable. The path wound around the mountain edge leaving us a perfect view of the valleys and meandering rivers below. We joined 2 monks and followed the sandy path, they were explaining they were off home after the summer festival at Namche. We shared their local foods and our sweets and we walked for about an hour entering into a more luscious closed environment of old trees and forests which was a real contrast from the mountainous rocky paths.
